Damnit, right after I post about how awesome Hannibal is, NBC cancels it. *Sigh* They did their best, and seeing the season-3 spoiler trailer I can’t help but be in awe of what they allowed to be shown on their network, so I can’t be mad at them. But I really hope Netflix, or Yahoo, or someone (anyone) picks it up.
That said I did get a lot of work done this week. I returned to an old writing group and they happen to do word-sprints (timed ‘write as much as you can’ mini competitions) and it’s really helping me. I just finished 1500 words today.
Things with Delphinium are good. All the scenes are falling into place, and plot lines I didn’t know were important are now at the forefront. Characters are surprising me too- I assumed Pierre would neglect some of his duties when he first arrives, but as soon as he realizes that things aren’t right he wants to fix things. I should have realized that sooner- a man that tries to fix death doesn’t let things slide. Pierre is selfish, but Piques is *his* land after all.
The fée are very important, and so is Pierre’s heritage. Originally I threw that in as a somewhat ‘this seems exotic and Victorian’ but now I don’t know how the story could be written without Faery so closely tied to Clandestina. And it seems being fay isn’t all very welcome in most places.
I’m starting to feel really good about the book being out this summer.
